About Susan 

At the heart of Susan Abod’s multifaceted artistry is a profound love for singing.
Her musical style is a vibrant fusion of jazz, blues, pop, and cabaret, marked by a unique ability to weave humor and intimacy into every performance. Susan is celebrated for these expressive and dynamic performances and her poignant songwriting. Her career highlights include touring throughout the U.S. and Europe. She has produced two CDs of original material: In the Moment and the title song of her second CD, What’s Not Wrong? has been featured on radio stations like KJAZZ, KUNM, and KSFR. Based in Santa Fe, her deep experience in the jazz world is highlighted by her participation in New Mexico’s Jazz Women’s Voices Series, a starring role in a Tribute to Anita O’Day, and headlining for the Santa Fe Music Collective. She has performed in prestigious local venues such as the Governor’s Mansion, Vanessie, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, Santa Fe Children’s Museum, and El Meson, cementing her as a respected figure in the jazz community.

In addition to her music, Susan graduated with high honors from DePaul University. She produced two acclaimed documentary films available on Amazon and Kanopy: Funny You Don’t Look Sick: An Autobiography of an Illness (64 min) – A personal account exploring chronic illness, and Homesick: Living with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (53 min) – A poignant look at life with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS). Susan’s art and advocacy resonate deeply with her audiences, making her an influential voice in both the music and chronic illness communities.
